What they take home

Not a field trip. A group learning to look after each other

A school camp here is not a field trip. It's a group learning to organize, look after each other and step up without being asked. Teachers notice it on the bus home.

Leadership, service, values and teamwork: the jungle and the challenges are the stage; what happens between the students is what goes home with them.

The activities

Challenges, pool and a campfire to close

Every activity has a reason: take the group out of its comfort zone and bring it back closer.

Frequently asked questions

What a school board asks

How many students can come?

From 30 students. There are 120 beds in air-conditioned cabins and the Corral camping area takes the rest when the group is larger. The largest group we have hosted was 480 people.

How many adults come with the students?

Teachers come at no cost: one per 20 students. The camp staff also runs the activities throughout the stay.

Is there medical care?

Yes. On school camps a paramedic is on site throughout the group's stay, at no extra cost.

What about allergies and special menus?

All meals are included and allergy menus are free. If someone needs a special menu, tell us and we will work it out together.

What is signed before the trip?

An authorization with the group and the service terms in writing. The school sets the conduct rules and we enforce them at the camp.

How long is a school camp?

From a full day with three meals to stays of several nights. The format is built with the school around the goal of the trip and the group's budget.

How far ahead should we book?

High season runs March to August and fills up with school and church groups. Schools that book usually decide between October and January of the previous school year.

Can we visit the camp before deciding?

Yes. We welcome site visits from the principal, the parents' committee or the board before closing the date, and we recommend it.
